Our Story

      Over the past 29 years, AmeriCare’s local owners have transformed a single ambulance operation on North Florida Avenue in Tampa into one of the region’s most trusted emergency medical transportation providers, now headquartered on a five-acre campus in eastern Hillsborough County.

What began as a dedicated Basic Life Support (BLS) service has grown into a comprehensive, multi-division operation designed to meet the evolving healthcare needs of the community. By expanding into Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Critical Care Transportation Services, AmeriCare has positioned itself as a full-spectrum provider—delivering everything from non-emergency medical transport to high-acuity, hospital-to-hospital critical care transfers.

This strategic growth has allowed AmeriCare to respond not only to emergencies, but also to the increasing demand for specialized medical transport across Hillsborough County. Each division is staffed by highly trained professionals committed to clinical excellence, compassionate care, and rapid response.

Today, AmeriCare proudly employs more than 220 dedicated team members and operates a fleet of 40 fully equipped units. Our investment in advanced equipment, ongoing training, and operational excellence ensures that every patient receives the highest standard of care—whether across town or across the county.

7 Advance Life Support Ambulances – Equipped with Intensive Care ZOLL EMV+ Ventilators, Sapphire Infusion Pumps, ZOLL X Series Monitors and Stryker’s state of the art    
"Load Systems”. Some units can also accommodate Neonatal and Bariatric transports.


33 Basic Life Support Ambulances – With all the required (BLS) equipment, these units are also set up with Stryker’s Power Stretcher and Morrison Soft Stretcher’s that aid in the smooth transportation from origin to destination.
